My name is Rex Djere, and I've been a devout saxophonist since 1988. I'm also an engineer and computer scientist. I play alto saxophone in RCCG Glory Chapel's Choir. I also play the alto saxophone in two bands: The Downriver Community Band and the Transit Brothers.I wrote 500 Dynamic Daily Etudes to improve my sight-reading ability in all 12 keys, to improve my overall saxophone technique, and to improve my ability to improvise over various chord changes in all 12 keys. After writing and studying etudes for several months, I noticed that my sight-reading improved dramatically. I got the idea to write my own saxophone etudes from an interview that I watched with the late Michael Brecker. Once I started to write my own etudes, it became addictive, and I now continuously write saxophone etudes to improve my skills on the saxophone. At some point, I decided to share my etudes by writing this book. This will be the first of several volumes that will explore many different areas of saxophone proficiency. I think that you'll find these etudes to be very unique, and quite challenging to play, but you'll get better at playing them with time.
